2009 Giant Trance X3

With 5-inches of travel both front and rear, Giant's Trance X3 is the trail bike that takes you further into the wild than you thought possible. The Maestro suspension delivers efficient pedaling with smooth, controlled descending over rough singletrack at any speed. Shimano's slick drivetrain with a low-profile SLX rear derailleur fires off quick shifts. And, the tough WTB wheels are powered by stiff Race Face cranks and Crank Brothers clipless pedals. Plus, you get top-level braking from Hayes with their sick Stoker discs, too.

Comments:

I have had this bike for five months, and in those five months I have had no problems with the bike and have ridden 550 miles. This bike will easily ride any bike trail in Fort Collins. Some of the trails I have ridden include Pine Ridge, Coyote Ridge, Blue Sky, Indian Summer, and all the valley trails in Lory State Park. The suspension just eats up bumps.

    Comments:

I've had this bike for 2 months now and it has handled everything I've thrown at it. It's very lightweight and handles very well going up and downhill. I have friends who own a lot more expensive bikes say how light this bike really is. The suspension flattens out most rocks and ruts and the brakes provide lots of stopping power. I thought the seat was initially too hard for long rides, but a good pair of gel cycling shorts and a few rides to get used to the seat and it doesn't bother me anymore.

Unbelievable performance! I just upgraded to the X3 and was very impressed with the lightweight feel, smooth ride, tight turning, no bobing, hill climbing, tire gripping, brake stopping performance of this bike. All the components worked very well and took a pounding the first time out, no adjustments needed! AJ's took the time to set me up on this bike and gave me a deal on a BIKE that I am very satisfied with!, Great Shop!!! I shopped around and here I found a bike that needs no upgrades for performance. If you want bike to take you to the next level this is it, outstanding quality at a value price!

            Comments:

I am really impressed with the X3, since buying this bike 3 months ago, I have ridden it over 1500 miles on lots of Socal trails. Whether fire roads, single tracks, tough climbs, or rock gardens this bike keeps up with the rest and needs very little attention. I really like the climbing abilty and the geometry is great. Acceleration is also exceptional and I leave my cru in the dust.....above all this bike is built to last with great components, none of which have let me down, or have I felt are lacking in any way. If you want an economical, full suss, quality bike this is hard to beat ......

AWESOME bike. keeps up with the best and never lets you down. good components, suspension, wheels, etc... Mainly use it for long xc rides and occasionly solid downhills not to gnarly. the 5" of suspension takes and handles everything you throw at it and stays solid all the way. no flex or washy feelings. the only bad thing is about it is, well there really isnt. perfect bike for the cost and average rider. dont even hesitate. get it.

                  Comments:

I use the Trance 3 for downhill and basically through anything on the trail. This bike is hooked up with great rear and front suspension that will take you anywhere. I go to a local bike park and it handles rocks, mud, tree stumps/roots, and ramps with ease. Once next year comes around I will definitly buy another Giant Mountain Bike to add to my collection.
